TerraMetrics Corn and Soybean Yield Estimates Lower than USDA WASDE
by 0.8 and 0.6 Bu/Ac Respectively
TMAI County Level Estimates Show State Level Differences
LAWRENCE, KS, August 12, 2024 — USDA today released their August World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates which included their first survey-based corn and soybean yield estimates for the current US growing season. Nationally, USDA’s estimated corn yield forecast of 183.1 bu/ac is 0.8 bu/ac higher than TerraMetrics (TMAI) August 7th forecast of 182.3 bu/ac. TMAI’s soybean forecast of 52.6 bu/ac was 0.6 bu/ac lower than USDA’s. By any measure, 2024 is currently projected to have record crops.
